Spencer Tunick in Mexico City

Breaking his previous record, Spencer Tunick shot photos of over 18,000 naked people all in one place today at his massive nude photo shoot at The Zócalo in Mexico City. Milenio has coverage of it (in Spanish), including a bunch of photos and Carlos Garcia has some great photos on Flickr. Here’s more coverage from SF Gate (Associated Press), Los Angeles Times and Stuff.

Spencer’s next large scale nude shoot will take place in Amsterdam in June.

For more on Spencer’s work, check out his videos “Naked States” and “Naked World”.

Spencer,

Saw your global photoshoot on tv great work! I have some technical questions:

-what was your point of focus in that big crowd?
-shutter speed/aperature
-were you shooting a pentax 6 x 7??
how were you determining your meter reading?

I would love to be in one of your photos, specially Teotihuacan for all that it means to me. How can I make contact with you, Spencer , to be in your shoot?

In any religion and non relegion persons also will say this practice is not good.
we should avoid all these things and protect our body not like this nude.
what will show in the future what we have done in past.

God is the Wisest . We’re his creatures and we should obey Him and be wise . In His last revelation , THE HOLY QURAN ” He advises all people to wear clothes and not follow the steps of devil . If we pursue our desires and neglect our intellect then we are animals . God wanted us to be His superior creatures who are wise , respectable , degnified and decent . I ask Mr spencer Tunick : ” What is your real objective behind your photography of nudes ?
