“Nightingale and Canary” by Australian mixed media artist Andy Thomas is a short video featuring animated visualizations of bird sounds recorded by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Thomas developed the “animated lifeforms” using animal and plant life as reference, through a complex process he touches upon in a blog post.
