Any 2 Web Pages Are No More Than 19 Clicks Apart, According to Hungarian Physicist

Opte Project

According to Hungarian physicist Albert-László Barabási, you can navigate from any web page on the Internet to any other web page in 19 clicks or less. Barabási came to this conclusion after studying a simulated model of the Internet and its estimated 14 billion pages and 1 trillion total documents. He found that while much of the web is poorly connected, a small number of pages serve as highly connected nodes (Google, Reddit, etc.), connecting far-flung regions of the Internet together. His findings were published yesterday in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society.
