The Chapel Of Chimes

Alex Handy and his friend V recently toured the beautiful Chapel Of Chimes in Oakland, during New Music Bay Area’s annual “Garden of Memory” Summer Solstice walk-through concert. They shot a bunch of photos and video, including some footage of our friends from The Crank Ensemble.

The Chapel Of Chimes is an amazing labyrinth style columbarium and mausoleum, designed in 1928 by legendary California architect Julia Morgan (she was the architect for the Hearst Castle and many other buildings built by William Randolph Hearst).

Sarah Lefton wrote about the Garden of Memory for SFGate’s Culture Blog.

Here’s more video of the event from redheadjokes.
