Alan Light has scanned and uploaded some fantastic photos from the 1982 San Diego Comic Con (now known as Comic-Con International). Here’s his full set of photos.

Will Eisner, Jack Kirby, Mrs. Kirby

One of his photos shows comics legends Will Eisner and Jack Kirby having dinner.

Frank Miller

And there is another great photo of a young Frank Miller.

My favorite photo is the panel discussion featuring Denis Kitchen (founder of Kitchen Sink Press and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund), George DiCaprio (comic book writer/distributor and father of Leonardo DiCaprio), Ron Turner (founder of Last Gasp), Clay Geerdes, Kim Deitch, Robert Williams, Dan O’Neill and Leonard Rifas.

The amazing thing is: all these photos look like they could’ve been taken today. Ah, Comic Con…
