Ahoy internet!
My name is Kimber Streams, and you may have seen my byline floating around the site the past few weeks. I started out as an intern and contributor at ABC News in 2011, and after I graduated college in May 2012 I moved into a position as a news writer with The Verge. Last month, I was welcomed in by the slightly damp yet tender tentacles of Laughing Squid.
But that’s just my professional life. In my spare time I’ve cosplayed, made chain mail, eaten tiramisu in Central Park, been an art student, and met the wonderful Benedict Cumberbatch, Steven Moffat, and Sue Vertue. Aside from thoroughly enjoying British television, tea, and a good book, I’m also a huge gamer. I own a massive Asus gaming laptop, and though the list changes often, right now my favorite games are Team Fortress 2, Borderlands 2, and Katamari Damacy. Just yesterday Valve updated Team Fortress 2 with support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, and I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am. While covering CES 2013 I had the opportunity to test out the Oculus, and it certainly felt like the future. I can’t wait for my devkit to arrive!

That said, I’m really looking forward to working alongside the other lovely tentacles here at Laughing Squid. I’m off to flex my newfound dactyli!
