‘Transition’, A Deceptively Simple Paper Structure That Conceals a Sky Gazing Room
Transition is a deceptively simple art installation that from the outside looks like a column of bundled paper tubes. However, a small entranceway allows viewers to enter the column, revealing the installation’s true purpose–an intriguing viewing device for gazing at the sky. The paper tube structure creates a beautiful, vaguely floral-patterned filter through which the sky can be seen. Transition was created by Tama Art University student Shoko Konishi as her graduation project in 2014.
