San Francisco in Jell-O by Liz Hickok

Reconsidered Materials

The amazing installation “San Francisco in Jell-O” by Liz Hickok will be featured as part of the “Magnitude X: Quake Science and Survival” exhibit at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, this Saturday, April 1st.

San Francisco in Jell-O. Imagine a scale model of the city’s iconic structures rendered in the translucent primary colors of Jell-O. Liz Hickok’s San Francisco in Jell-O is a shimmering, temporal crown jewel, complete with fog, that resonates, literally, even ominously. As a medium, Jell-O is obviously underrated.
