Predict Gaze, Software Lets Front-Facing Cameras Detect User Expressions & Gestures

Santa Clara, California startup Predict Gaze is developing software that will allow a mobile device, computer, or TV to detect facial expressions, eye movements, gestures, even the user’s gender, using the device’s front-facing camera. Using Predict Gaze’s software, a person can mute music with a “shush” gesture, scroll up and down in a browser by looking up and down, and pause a TV by leaving the room. Predict Gaze is currently being developed for Mac and iOS, with Linux and Android planned for the future.
