Make Magazine and O’Reilly Media

Yesterday I drove up to visit the offices of Make Magazine (which includes the new Craft Magazine) located at O’Reilly Media’s headquarters in to Sebastopol, California (near Santa Rosa, about an hour and a half north of San Francisco). While there I met with Dale Dougherty and Sherry Huss, who gave me a tour of Make’s office and onsite lab, as well as O’Reilly main offices (Tim wasn’t there, so I didn’t get a chance to say hello). Here are a few photos.

We discussed possible makers and presenters for Maker Faire, which takes place in San Mateo on May 19-20 and in Austin on October 20-21. Last year’s Maker Faire was amazing and from what I can tell at this early stage, this year’s events will be even more incredible. Laughing Squid is planning on increasing our involvement with Maker Faire this year, so stay tuned.

Speaking of the O’Reilly campus, at last year’s Foo Camp several attendees created giant Space Invaders images on the ground that were then photographed by satellites for Google Maps and Google Earth.
