Laughing Squid’s Quarterly Box #LSQ01 Has Shipped
I won’t lie, it’s been hard keeping mum on #LSQ01, our first Quarterly box. Scott Beale and I had such a great time putting it together, it was hard to not share its contents sooner. Now that the boxes have made their way out to the world, we can finally talk about it. We themed #LSQ01 “old school” and included items relating to San Francisco Cacophony Society, nostalgia, art, and zines.
We knew that the first box had to have the recently published Tales of the San Francisco Cacophony Society book but wanted to keep its inclusion a secret from its co-author and Laughing Squid partner John Law, until now. Over the weekend, I brought my own unopened Quarterly box over to unveil the surprise. As expected, he was pretty happy about it all.
Here’s John holding the unopened box and looking at tad skeptical:
Before we share some pictures, we want to thank everyone who subscribed and give special thanks to blogger Bob Bonsall for the box’s first (glowing!) review. Sign-ups are now being taken to subscribe to the #LSQ02 box and all future ones.
Ok, here’s a look at the insides:
We included a handmade zine which, on the back cover, featured the “Fluff Squid Snowflake” by artist Kit Cameo:
We included the book and a “Fluffernutter kit”:
As well as “Tentacle Cluster,” an art print by Josh Ellingson:
