Kotatsu, A Traditional Japanese Floor Sofa Made Modern With Convertible Options
The traditional Kotatsu featured a low wooden table heated by coal and covered with a thick blanket for many years. Belle Maison and other Japanese companies have put a modern twist on this design, offering really comfy looking corner floor sofas with back cushions that easily convert from upright for studying or working to flat for sleeping. A heated table (oki-gotatsu) is added for further comfort.
