Creators of ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘House’ Close Deal on New CBS Detective Drama ‘Battle Creek’
Sony Pictures announced on Wednesday that Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and David Shore, creator of FOX’s drama series House, have closed a deal with CBS to produce a detective drama series called Battle Creek. As reported by The New York Times, CBS has “promised to produce 13 episodes and put them all on the air.”
‘Battle Creek’ is a drama based on Gilligan’s script, which he originally wrote for CBS 10 years ago, about two detectives in Battle Creek, Michigan. One is a trusting naïf, the other a cynic who relies on guile and deception. They find themselves in competition with an F.B.I. agent whom they see as the epitome of a crime-fighter, though he is far from that.
