CoeLux, An Artificial LED Skylight That Uses Nanotechnology to Convincingly Emulate Natural Sunlight
CoeLux is a lighting system that uses nanotechnology to emulate natural sunlight with astonishing realism. In essence, the system uses nanoparticles to play the role of the earth’s atmosphere, scattering the blue light generated by a LED “sun,” which results in a blue sky effect (an example of Rayleigh scattering). As this video illustrates, the system can create an incredibly convincing skylight for rooms with no natural light. CoeLux debuted in 2014.
