Black Heart Cases are handcrafted (and lasercrafted) leather iPhone and iPad skins by San Francisco artist Gustavo Pastre. Pastre’s next product will be a leather iPad envelope and mustache stand–he’s raising funds to buy materials for the project via Kickstarter.

My name’s Gustavo Pastre and have been an artist/craftsman my entire life. I endeavor to craft items of enduring quality. That means that long after the intended use is no longer relevant, the item or it’s components, can be used for some other purpose. A universal approach. When I was a child, I used to think everything was made in factories. Looks as if things are going that way. My processes are old fashioned and newfangled. Cast iron hand presses and lasers. All the materials and construction is done in and around San Francisco, California.
