Vets Replace Tortoise’s Amputated Leg With Wheel

When Gamara, an African spur-thighed tortoise, was brought to Washington State University veterinary teaching hospital with a severely injured front leg, veterinarians were forced to amputate the limb. The vets replaced the leg with a swiveling wheel, and the tortoise is now able to move about on its own (video).
