San Francisco Woman Who Was Mistaken For Brazilian Soap Opera Star on Twitter Becomes A Meme in Brazil

Helena Price, a San Francisco photographer (and friend of Laughing Squid) has recently become a meme in Brazil due to an instance of mistaken Twitter identity. Helena, who is @helena on Twitter, was flooded with tweets from fans of the Brazilian soap opera Em Familia who were concerned about the show’s character, also named Helena.

While Helena doesn’t speak Portugese, she was able to engage with the fans and quickly won their hearts. So much that the President of Brazil invited her to visit Brazil. And she also gained about 8,000 new Twitter followers.
