Laughing Squid Looking For A Linux Sys Admin

Dell PowerEdge Server

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who applied, the position has been filled.

Barry Abrahamson, the current sys admin for Laughing Squid Web Hosting, is moving on to work full time at Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com. Therefore we are currently looking for a new sys admin, who also has some PHP development experience.

The position is a full time, independent contractor job (work from home) and this position requires some tech support (mostly Help Desk, but some phone). Laughing Squid is based in San Francisco, but it may be possible to work from another US city, as long as you are available during business hours and be on call for server monitoring after hours.

This would be a great opportunity to work for a small, independent web hosting company that has close ties to both the art and technology communities. For more info on our web hosting operations, please visit laughingsquid.net

Here’s more information on the position.

I’m sad to see Barry go. He’s always been a big help every time I’ve screwed something up. I wish him all the best.

Scott, I have an Xserve just like that. Dual G4 running my own Quicktime Streaming Server and Remote desktop.

Anyway, I’d submit a resume’ but I’m in Florida. I’m a microsoft certified pro with helpdesk experience going back to the age of 16 (4.5 years now).

I’ve worked for Apple and now work for a local IT company doing sys admin stuff for clients. sorry I can’t come to your aid.
