Here’s the music video for “Cool in the Cool Way – Invasion of the Hipster Bodysnatchers” by My First Earthquake from their first full-length album “Downstairs”. Speaking of which they are having an album release party tomorrow night, Saturday, June 20th at Cafe du Nord, along with Blue Rabbit and B an Not.

I’m confused. Are they saying that they aren’t hipsters and this sucks, and they need help to become hipsters? Or are they saying that being a hipster is lame, and the song is all ironic-like?

A little help is appreciated.

The bike part is all wrong. That hipster fixed-gear bike had a hand brake on it!

That was funny. I was just thinking yesterday how many uptight hipsters there are in Portland. Nobody smiles and if you dress colorful they look at you like you’re not as cool as they are. It’s funny how they think they are so savvy and amazing and “outside” but they all look the same XD.
It’s not everybody, but it’s sure a high percentage. Too bad, Portland has better potential than that.
