Jen Bekman, who runs an art gallery in New York’s Lower East Side, has just launched 20×200, to help people find affordable art as well as making it easier for artists to sell their work online. Each week they feature a new photo and a work on paper for sale. For the latest updates, check out the 20×200 blog.

As we see it, there are a lot of people out there who want to sell their art and a lot of people who’d like to buy it. They just have a hard time finding each other. The internet is the perfect place to bring those people together, and we’re exactly the right people to make it happen. We’re passionate about art and the internet at 20×200. We’re really excited about creating a place where almost any art lover can be an art collector.

This week’s featured work on paper is “You’re Impossible” by Mike Monteiro.

Thanks to Steve Rhodes for the tip!

There seems to be a growing number of affordable art projects and now it’s a question not so much of… can you find affordable art (yes you can) but what kind of art are you looking for and is the art doing something…. is it challenging or is it a commodity, is it beautiful or does it demand interpretation, is there a distinct point of view. Matching supply and demand… well okay you want to do that but we need to create and perpetuate other challenges in the process.
