Velosynth, An Open Source Bicycle Interaction Synthesizer

Velosynth

Velosynth is an open source synthesizer that attaches to a bicycle, converting the bike’s speed and acceleration into audio feedback. A Kickstarter project has been started to create kits, as well as fund future research and design.

Velosynth is an open-source bicycle interaction computer. It uses a variety of sensors to detect the Motion of a bicycle and then interprets this data into Audio and Visual communication. This feedback loop helps to increase awareness of the cyclist within the transportation environment — much to the same way one can both hear and see a vehicle approaching.
