The Squidder, A Graphic Novel by Ben Templesmith About an Old Soldier in a Post-Apocalyptic World
“It’s Mad Max meets Cthulhu.” – Ben Templesmith
The Squidder is an upcoming original graphic novel written and drawn by artist Ben Templesmith of the 44 Flood art collective. It’s about an “old soldier from a forgotten war in a post-apocalyptic world that has left him behind.” You can view an interview that Bloody Disgusting conducted with Ben for more information on The Squidder. Templesmith is raising funds on Kickstarter to help create the project. The Squidder books are estimated to be shipped in May 2014.
In the vein of Mad Max meets Cthulhu, THE SQUIDDER will explore themes of a changing world, propaganda, and the nature of control via the main character. We’ll follow this journey of unfinished business through a world now alien and destroyed by a war which humanity lost generations ago against the almighty squid. The book promises heavy horror, fantasy, and Lovecraftian elements, as well as black humor.
