Robo Raven, A 3D-Printed Flying Robotic Bird Capable of Advanced Aerial Maneuvers
The Robo Raven is a robotic bird designed by a team led by University of Maryland professor Satyandra Gupta that features independently flapping wings that make it capable of performing flips and other advanced aerial maneuvers. The robot’s designers kept its weight down by 3D printing complex parts as a single unit. The Raven looks enough like a real bird that it was attacked by a hungry hawk mid-testing.
