Retouch3D, A Heated Tool Designed Specifically For Retouching 3D-Printed Objects
Retouch3D is a heated tool created by a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania startup of the same name that was designed to let makers touch up their 3D-printed objects. Rather than scraping or sanding the object down, the pen’s interchangeable heads melt the imperfections in the final object back into place.
Retouch3D will work with the materials used in mainstream 3D printing: PLA; ABS; and Resin-based processes. Heat is a key component of the Retouch3D solution; we have tested various materials, at different heat settings, using off-the-shelf products such as soldering irons (which are sub-optimal).
The product is currently seeking funding via Kickstarter.
