Researchers Demonstrate the Feasibility of Printable Robotics That Assemble Themselves When Heated
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor of electrical engineering and computer science Daniela Rus and her collaborators have demonstrated the feasibility of printable robotics that assemble themselves when heated. Specifically, an MIT video looks at the creation of a self-folding strain sensor and self-folding actuator. The current line of research builds on previous work by Rus in 2010 that looked into how origami could be used to create reconfigurable robots.
