New York State Senate Passes Gay Marriage Bill
Tonight the New York State Senate passed the gay marriage bill in a vote of 33-to-29, making New York the largest state where gay and lesbian couples can get married. Once Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signs the bill it will go into effect 30 days later. A massive celebration is taking place at Stonewall Inn, where the gay rights movement started 42 years ago.
