Children’s book author and illustrator Maurice Sendak speaks on being a kid in this animation by Patrick Smith. Andrew Romano and Ramin Seetodeh interviewed Sendak in 2009 for Newsweek and no one had heard the conversation until now. Sendak died in May 2012 and would have turned 85 today. The animation is part of Blank on Blank, PBS Digital Studios’ animated series of interviews with famous people.
