Interactive Electromagnetic Dot Matrix Display by Breakfast
Brooklyn interactive agency Breakfast created this amazing 23 foot wide dot matrix display out of 44,000 electromagnetic spinning disks (video). The display can depict black and white moving images and graphics, but the real fun starts when viewers interact with it. The display captures live images of nearby viewers, incorporating them into the graphics on the screen. Viewers can use gestures to interact with the graphics.
The dot matrix display is a promo for the new TNT crime show Perception, and is on display in a storefront at 885 6th Ave. in Manhattan until July 29. To see how it was made, watch this making-of video:
