Tippett Studio has released a behind-the-scenes featurette that explores how visual effect master Phil Tippett and his Tippet Studio team recreated the iconic stop-motion Holochess set for the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the same one that was in the original Star Wars film. Tippett and his team discuss the process of animating the memorable little monsters for a quick easter egg in the new movie. Phil also goes into detail about his previous work in A New Hope.
Adam Savage of Tested also went behind-the-scenes to show how the Holochess set was recreated.
