How to Drink Coffee in Space Using a Zero Gravity Coffee Cup
NASA physicists have invented a special Zero Gravity Coffee Cup for astronauts aboard the International Space Station. With a normal cup, astronauts would have to shake the hot liquid to break it into smaller globs and hope that one drifted toward their mouth, but the Zero Gravity Coffee Cup uses capillary forces to direct coffee normally toward the drinker’s mouth, as NASA explains in this recent ScienceCasts video.
