After Newsweek listed Grand Rapids, Michigan as one of “America’s Dying Cities”, city resident and event coordinator Rob Bliss organized a massive and defiant community response: a spirited lip dub music video of Don McLean’s “American Pie”, featuring 5,000 participants, a marching band, a wedding, and a helicopter.
