Cathedral of Junk In Austin Is Being Torn Down

The Cathedral of Junk

The incredible Cathedral of Junk, a 60 ton, 33′ tall assemblage of objects in Austin is being torn down after losing a zoning battle with the city. Vince Hannemann, who started building it 21 years ago, is now working on dismantling the structure.

So much for Keeping Austin Weird.

UPDATE: At the last minute Vince reached an agreement with the city, so it looks like the Cathedral of Junk will be saved after all.
