In a touching 2016 holiday ad for the Polish online store Allegro entitled “English for Beginners“, a genial older man receives a special delivery of books and other tools that will help him teach himself English. At first the man is a little nervous, but some time and random post-it notes around the house, he grows more and more confident, amusingly exclaiming on the bus “I love you. You are perfect.” and asking his little dog “Can you show me the way to the beach?”. His next delivery is a suitcase, which he uses to travel, which reveals his important reason for learning a new language.
