A grass snake in Denmark plays dead on a cold autumn day as a natural defense mechanism against predators and curious people with video cameras.

The grass snake uses different strategies when it’s attacked by a predator. One is playing dead, lying on the back with its mouth open and the tongue hanging out. I found this grass snake in autumn, when it was cold and it was unable to flee.
