Synchronized Dancing Robotic Desk Lamps by Jonathan Foote
C.A.R.D.L.E. Robotic Desk Lamps by Jonathan Foote are ingenious, surprisingly nimble robot lamps whose graceful synchronized movement is controlled by a joystick. Everything from rotation to LED lamp color can be changed on the fly, thanks to custom software also designed by Foote. The C.A.R.D.L.E. (Completely Awesome Robotic Desk Lamp Experiment) project was the recipient of a 2010 Awesome Foundation Award and was on display at Maker Faire Bay Area 2011.
Eddie Codel captured the lamps on video at Maker Faire–note that the brightness of their LEDs overwhelmed the camera’s sensor.
