A Collection of Videos Featuring the Captivating Phenomenon of Whales Spouting Rainbows
While on a whale-watching cruise in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2011, YouTube user rsean9000 captured video of the captivating phenomenon of a rainbow appearing when a whale spouts water. The sunlight was at the perfect angle in relation to the spouting water so that a rainbow appeared.
This beautiful wonder has been recorded by other whale watchers. M. Sid Kelly witnessed a mother gray whale and her calf spouting rainbows below Wedding Rock in Humboldt County, California in May 2014.
Guests on a Sanctuary Cruises whale-watching trip outside of Moss Landing, California spotted a pod of humpback whales spouting subtle rainbows in November 2013.
