Infra, Vibrant Infrared Photos of Conflict in the Congo
“Infra” is a stunning photo series by Irish photographer Richard Mosse that documents the ongoing conflict in Eastern Congo through the vibrant false color of infrared film. Mosse shot the series in 2010 and 2011 on Kodak Aerochrome, an infrared color film originally developed for military surveillance. The film depicts greens as bright pink, thus giving camouflaged rebel soldiers and war-torn landscapes a bizarre festive quality. The series is available as a photo book, Infra.
