Elephants Gather Closely Around Their Favorite Human as She Lovingly Sings to Them

Elephants Faa Mai and Thong Ae, along with other herd members at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand, gathered around their favorite human, Lek Chailert, as she lovingly sang to them. Lek, who’s known for singing lullabies so her beloved pachyderms can fall asleep, can also charm them during the day.

At first, only Faa Mai and Thong Ae stand nearby, quietly taking in her soft, melodic voice. But as Lek continues to sing, more elephants begin to approach, drawn by the familiar, comforting sound.

Chailert, who began rescuing injured, neglected and elderly elephants in the 1990s, also founded the Save Elephant Foundation to help elephant owners move away from riding and performances.
