TIE Fighter, An Artfully Animated Star Wars Fan Film Featuring the Empire’s Side of a Battle
“TIE Fighter” is an artfully drawn and animated short film by Paul Michael Johnson featuring a ferocious spaceship battle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance of the Star Wars universe. Johnson spent four years’ worth of weekends creating the film, taking the detailed style of 1980s anime as his inspiration while focusing on the actions of the Empire. With music by Zak Rahman and sound effects from the 1994 video game Star Wars: TIE Fighter, the hard and fast sound of the film perfectly matches the urgent pace of the action.
