To be fair, the tree in the photo montage above is the World’s Second Tallest Tree at 369 feet. It was the world’s tallest known tree until the 2006 discovery of Hyperion, a 379 foot tall coast redwood somewhere in California’s Redwood National Park (as trees have a checkered history with mankind, its exact location is kept secret.) Ecologist Jim Spickler took a camera to the top of Hyperion so that we can see the view from the world’s tallest plant.
