The Merchant Square Footbridge, A London Pedestrian Bridge That Opens Like an Ornamental Fan

Located on a canal in London, the Merchant Square footbridge takes on the form of a beautiful ornamental fan when it opens for canal traffic. The bridge consists of five steel beams which open in sequence, forming the fan shape. The bridge is located in the new Merchant Square development in London’s Paddington district. The Merchant Square footbridge was designed by Knight Architects.
