“The Altogether Horrid Street Ballad Of Paratii” by Austrian art and tech group Monochrom is an electronic hurdy gurdy karaoke machine that recounts a gruesome folk tale from the town of Paratii, Brazil. A group of Monochrom members heard the tale during a trip to Brazil in 2002 and subsequently created the machine to recount it. The video above was shot in 2013 as part of 23 Works, a video series about the history of Monochrom.
