In 1969, designer Saul Bass pitched a comprehensive rebranding of the Bell System—from its outdated logo to the uniforms and trucks of its workers—in this fascinating short film. Many of the recommendations were adopted, including the still recognizable Bell System logo (discussion of the logo begins at the 10:00 mark).
