I'm as opposed to Prop H as I am to the bailout. Blank checks to lunatics and thieves, be they Paulson and Wall St. or the SF Board of Supervisors, is always a bad idea. What we should do is bring back city-wide voting so we can kick Chris Daly and Bevan Dufty the hell out!

Awesome! I loved the documentary "What Would Jesus Buy?" that follows a few months in the life of Rev. Billy. I watched it expecting to dislike the man, but he's so adorable.
You can watch WWJB? in its entirety online at http://snagfilms.com/films/title/what_would_jes...

Prop H is not a "blank check." That's propaganda from PG&E who is scared to death of being required to provide substantial amounts of clean energy. Prop H authorizes the issuance of revenue bonds. Investors only buy revenue bonds if they're confident that the project will generate revenues. The money won't come from ratepayers or the general fund--only from electricity profits that would otherwise go in PG&E's pocket.

San Francisco's PUC already does a great job with providing our water, sewage, and 10% of our electricity. PG&E has sky-high rates, more blackouts than any other California utility, a pitiful record on clean energy, and they already bilked us for billions with their fraudulent bankruptcy during the energy deregulation back at the turn of the century.

Now they're planning on raising rates another 9%--probably to pay for their million dollar fear campaign against Prop H. Don't buy their crap. Listen to Reverend Billy. Clean Energy-elujah!

actually dssstrkl you've got everything backwards. it's PG&E that are the lunatics and thieves. Do you not recall that california taxpayers had to bailout PG&E to the tune of some $70 Billion? We're still paying for that. And PG&E is the one who gets a blank check every single year when they raise our rates to increase their profits. And everyone i know in this city want to do something to stop global warming. it's the greatest danger we've ever faced as a planet. the reverend knows what's up. VOTE YES ON H!

If you oppose bailouts-- you oppose PG&E! We're still paying for the huge bailout that PG&E received! Yes they got a bailout of over $16 BILLION dollars from 1998-2001. At the same time they gave us rolling blackouts, skyrocketing rates, and all the while they were transferring wealth out to their parent company in Maryland and giving their CEOs million dollar paychecks with bonuses. . California Attorney General Bill Lockyer has accused PG&E's officers of siphoning $4 Billion to its unregulated holding company,
PGE Corp, out of the $8 Billion in "Competition Transition Surcharge" funds already paid to PG&E by its ratepayers between 1998 and 2000. Consumer advocates say the plan will ultimately saddle ratepayers with most of PG&E's $12 billion in debts.
