NASA Time-Lapse of 3 Years of the Sun in 3 Minutes

This NASA time-lapse shows the sun’s activity for the past three years in three minutes. The images are from the Solar Dynamics Observatory spacecraft, which has been collecting data on the sun in order to better understand the sun’s influence on the earth. The spacecraft’s Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) captures an image of the sun every 12 seconds in 10 wavelengths. To see today’s imagery from the AIA, check out The Sun Today.
