MakerBot Digitizer, A Desktop 3D Scanner

Today at SXSW in Austin, MakerBot unveiled the MakerBot Digitizer, a desktop 3D scanner that will allow users to scan and print objects without having to touch complicated 3D-modeling software. The company has not yet announced detailed specs, pricing, or a release date for the Digitizer, but it’s an exciting leap toward consumer-friendly 3D printing services.
