Tonight Jean-Jacques Perrey & Dana Countryman performed to a packed house at Recombinant Media Labs in San Francisco. They played a bunch of stuff from their new album “The Happy Electropop Music Machine!†and closed with Jean-Jacques’ famous E.V.A. Otis Fodder DJ’d before the show and Jello Biafra did the introductions. Here are the photos I shot.
V. Vale, Marian and RE/Search have once again produced another legendary show.
They have one more show as part of this tour, this Thursday, August 31st at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood.

This is the most horrible thing to happen to a Moog. I’ve heard one-ring circus music with more class and refinement.
Shame. Robert is rolling in his grave as I type this.
Actually, I think it is a “Synthesizers.com” Arrick Analog Synthesizer, not a Moog, though they are compatible electrically.
And I think the late Bob Moog would have enjoyed it. Indeed if you read JJ Perrey’s bio notes at his web site, you will read that Bob Moog delivered JJP his studio Moog personally back in the 60s and was a frequent visitor there to help make adjustments and module changes. Bob Moog and JJ Perrey also lectured in Europe about a year before Bob’s unfortunate illness and death.
So if Bob is rolling, he is clicking his heels as well.

… is definitely NOT posted by me and I have nothing to do with this at all. Please remove that comment! People who want to be abusive should at least use their own names and not pose as someone else.

Gee, I hope that wasn’t Jay Graydon, the music producer that said that.
Nah, can’t be. He’d know better.
Perrey is a living legend, and his music is much loved, all over the world.
I’ve been to his concerts, and seen tears of joy in people’s eyes, when they meet him.
