Free Josh Wolf Benefit

Videoblogger Josh Wolf is returning to prison today. His bail was revoked and he has been ordered to report to FDC Dublin at 1pm. He posted one last video on his blog before leaving.

Josh plans on blogging from prison by mailing letters to some of his supporters, who will then manually enter them on his blog. This will be Josh’s second round of being an embedded journalist in the federal prison system.

There will be a Free Josh Wolf Benefit tomorrow night (Thursday, September 21st) at Crash in San Francisco.

For more info on this case, see my orginal blog post and The Free Josh Wolf Wiki.

UPDATE 1: Geek Entertainment TV recently interviewed Josh Wolf about his case.

This whole thing is a joke. It’s fun to play the martyr, and important to resist the abuses of government – but let’s get serious. He has no case. It is illegal to withhold evidence of a crime (regardless of the ethics behind the crime). Furthermore, he completely undermined his stated principles by offering to screen the tape for the judge. This is a publicity stunt, which IS beneath any true anarchist. The misguided ideology of youth amplified by commitment…is there anything more tedious? Fight the power, but cut this guy loose. Self-promotion is not in the handbook.
