I in no way want to sound like an ass, but they sell almost literally this same thing all over the place in stores and gift shops in the touristy places of the Adirondacks – I assume elsewhere too. I mean: http://blog.kevenvision.com/media/img/donutseeds4.jpg

But it’s still a fun joke :)

What was the point of starting the comment with “I in no way want to sound like an ass”? Why not just mention that you’ve seen similar jokes? Most people, like myself have not seen this gag before, which is why I posted it.

Also why only link directly to a jpg and not the actual source?

Hi Scott! I didn’t mean to sound like I was complaining about it; just that I’ve seen the literally same idea implemented before. I still always smile whenever I see it. Just meant my comment to be a “oh yeah, I remember that joke!” sort of thing.

Not sure what you mean by not linking to “the actual source” though. It was just a link to another example of someone having that same idea.

Obviously my precursor of not wanting to sound like an ass had the opposite effect :)

Ah, I assumed the ass reference was to the old “I’ve seen this before, why did you post it”, which unfortunately happens a lot. Some people feel that if they’ve seen something on the internet before, then nobody else should post it again anywhere.

Regarding the image, you only linked directly to a detached jpg, so it really doesn’t provide any context. Most likely it is associated with a blog post that might have more information. For instance with my post mention the name of the artist and link to the image on his website. When you go there, you can see that he created it as an image for a book.
