On August 15, 2012, New York Times tech columnist David Pogue made an epic marriage proposal to his girlfriend by creating a fake movie trailer that told their story of love. Both of their families were gathered to watch a film at a summer resort, where he persuaded the theater to show his special trailer beforehand, all while capturing his girlfriend’s real-time reaction on camera hidden in a ficus plant next to the screen. The reaction from his girlfriend was priceless.
